Brobisky's Blog

I am Mrs. Brobisky and I teach Communication Arts to 6th graders on the Yellow Team at Willard Intermediate School. I have been with 6th graders for 16 years, and they have taught me a great deal.
I have learned to be prepared for ANYTHING, that kids usually give what is expected of them, they are NEVER boring, no two days are the same, 6th grade is ALWAYS an adventure! I love living in Willard and being a part of this community,
and I feel greatly blessed to do so.
I hope my classroom is a place kids look forward to coming to, where they feel valued, safe and cared for. I love to help kids get organized and this is something we continue to work on all year. I help kids
learn study skills, and reading strategies that will lead them to become life-long learners. I love reading and books and get so excited to see kids loving it too!
I am from Nebraska and as they say, "You can take the girl out of Nebraska, but you can't take Nebraska out of the girl" I am a die hard Husker fan and still consider Omaha "Home". Your Yellow Team teacher,
                                                                                     Colleen Brobisky

We will be starting our Black History Unit this week! Our big project will be a research project.
All of our students have been provided with an agenda. These make it possible for students to travel more securely through 6th grade . PLEASE require your student to bring this home nightly, so you can see what we do each day. If you cannot tell what we did, they are not filling it out properly. Please require them to do so. This helps them develop a fantasitic habit of writing down assignments that is needed even more as they they get older. It can also be a communication tool between parents and school. Feel free to write us a note if you have a question or concern, and have your child be the messenger. The quickest way to reach us is through E mail. Yellow team E mails are: cbrobisk, mhayter, rrasco, rhartzle, add @willard.k12.mo.us to any of those prefixes to reach us. It is often hard to reach us by phone, having restrictions of time and privacey pulling on us always. TOGETHER, we can ensure a successful year for your student! My desire is for your child to be and do his/her best.
That is the m

otive of my heart, and the goal of all my efforts.
Always, Mrs. Brobisky
