I will be gone today and Friday.  Students are working on some review concepts to form various designs and shapes.  My former 5th grade teacher, who also taught 6th grade for years, will be subbing in my room.

6th grade party is tonight!!  I will have to miss it, but I hope that all of you have a great time!

Next Tuesday is the IMAX trip!

Please remember that all library books books and fines need to be dealt with.  These will follow them to middle school and must be paid before they can register. 

Any student who is interested in running middle school Cross Country next year will need to see me next week.  I will have a schedule of summer running. 

Restaurant Row went great!  I appreciate extra help from the students and the fact that most of them were very prepared!!!  Thanks to all of the parents for sending in the items that your child wanted to bring.  It all went very smoothly!  This week, each restaurant group will be meeting with me to go over all of their paper work and receive a grade for the project.

Hello Students!  These are directions for Tuesday's assignment in the lab.  You should have your survey results and rough draft of your graph with you.  Each person in the group needs to create a graph using the following link.  Please save it where you save in computer class(Z drive, 6th grade, yellow, your folder).

Students finished up the MAP last week in FANTASTIC fashion!  I'm excited to see the scores!!!

This week, we are beginning to make plans for a huge math project called Restaurant Row.  A parent newsletter will be sent out this week, along with a scoring guide.  Students are buzzing with ideas today! 

This project brings together many math skills that we have used throughout the year, and even takes some to a higher level. 

Restaurant Row is always an exciting day for the Yellow Team at WIS!  Details coming later this week!

Way to go Mrs. Salmans class!  If our scores are as good as our behavior was during the test, then everyone will do FANTASTIC!!  I asked all of the classes what they thought, and most seemed to think they did pretty well!

Tomorrow is Communication Arts, and then we will be finished!  Thursday might hold some unexpected surprises.....:) 

We have a big Math project to do before the year is over!!!  We will begin discussing this on Friday!

Tomorrow is back to MAP review!  We have completed one MAP packet and will continue going over the answers on Monday.  We will do 1-2 more of them this week, trying to review as much as possible.  We have a great bunch of kids, and I think they will do very well!  They need to be sure to get enough sleep and eat well!

THIS SATURDAY-5th Annual Conquer Cancer 5K Walk/Run!!!  Come walk, run, or volunteer and help raise money for the American Cancer Society and Tammy Woody's (WMS Secretary) battle against cancer.  NEEDED:  Bottled water to give to participants after the race and volunteers to stop traffic along the route (you get to wear a cool vest)!

We had a nice Pancake Breakfast on Tuesday morning!  Congrats to all of those kids!

We have been wrapping up measuring and sliding into geometry.  When we return from Spring break, we will continue with geometry and continue reviewing for the MAP.

What can you do to help reinforce what we are doing at school?  Have your kids cook or get out a ruler and do some measuring for you!  We have been working on capacity and length in the customary system.  We will continue the unit next week as we get into the metric system.
