<DIV><SPAN class=Apple-style-span style="FONT-SIZE: 13px; COLOR: rgb(68,68,68); FONT-FAMILY: arial, sans-serif; BORDER-COLLAPSE: collapse">Setting up your printer or adding an additional printer over the network is a very easy task. &nbsp;You do not need to go through all of the add printer, select port, load driver steps. &nbsp;</SPAN></DIV>
<DIV><SPAN class=Apple-style-span style="FONT-SIZE: 13px; COLOR: rgb(68,68,68); FONT-FAMILY: arial, sans-serif; BORDER-COLLAPSE: collapse"><BR></SPAN></DIV>You simply log into Novell, open the F: drive, and find the folder labeled "PrinterInstall". &nbsp;If you are at OH, WC, or WS, you look on your G: drive as well, but you will then select your school from the list.</SPAN><SPAN class=Apple-style-span style="FONT-SIZE: 13px; COLOR: rgb(68,68,68); FONT-FAMILY: arial, sans-serif; BORDER-COLLAPSE: collapse"><BR></SPAN><SPAN class=Apple-style-span style="FONT-SIZE: 13px; COLOR: rgb(68,68,68); FONT-FAMILY: arial, sans-serif; BORDER-COLLAPSE: collapse"><BR></SPAN><SPAN class=Apple-style-span style="FONT-SIZE: 13px; COLOR: rgb(68,68,68); FONT-FAMILY: arial, sans-serif; BORDER-COLLAPSE: collapse">Within that folder are two others. &nbsp;Those of you with new stations, loaded with the new "Windows 7" operating system, can use the programs in the "Windows 7" folder to install whatever printer is convenient for you. &nbsp;Those with older "Windows XP" stations use the programs in the "Windows XP" folder.</SPAN><SPAN class=Apple-style-span style="FONT-SIZE: 13px; COLOR: rgb(68,68,68); FONT-FAMILY: arial, sans-serif; BORDER-COLLAPSE: collapse"><BR></SPAN><SPAN class=Apple-style-span style="FONT-SIZE: 13px; COLOR: rgb(68,68,68); FONT-FAMILY: arial, sans-serif; BORDER-COLLAPSE: collapse"><BR></SPAN><SPAN class=Apple-style-span style="FONT-SIZE: 13px; COLOR: rgb(68,68,68); FONT-FAMILY: arial, sans-serif; BORDER-COLLAPSE: collapse">There are two copies of most of the files. &nbsp;If you want the printer you're installing to be your "default" printer, then choose the file that includes the word "DEFAULT". &nbsp;If you prefer a different printer to be your default printer, then choose the "NOT Default" version.</SPAN>

<DIV><FONT class=Apple-style-span face="arial, sans-serif" color=#444444 size=3><SPAN class=Apple-style-span style="FONT-SIZE: 13px; BORDER-COLLAPSE: collapse">When you double click the little ms-dos icon, you will see the loading takes place. &nbsp;It will automatically load the drivers, setup the port, put the printer in your printer folder and make it the default or not. &nbsp;Very easy!!!!!<BR></SPAN></FONT>

<DIV><SPAN class=Apple-style-span style="FONT-SIZE: 13px; COLOR: rgb(68,68,68); FONT-FAMILY: arial, sans-serif; BORDER-COLLAPSE: collapse">It is a good idea to install more than one printer on your station. &nbsp;Then if your default printer is out of service, you can select another printer in your building.</SPAN></DIV></DIV></p>

    <h3 class="post-title">A New School Year!</h3>
    <div class="post-body">
      <p>Welcome back! &nbsp;It is always an exciting time of year. &nbsp;I wanted to update everyone on some of the technology changes over the summer. &nbsp;Some are behind the scenes while others are a bit more obvious.<div><ul><li>upgraded our connectivity between all of the schools.</li><li>upgraded our overall bandwidth.</li><li>installed a new filter for internet that is much more manageable.</li><li>replaced approximately 200 stations around the district.</li><li>added about 75 smartboards in core classrooms.</li><li>added 25 more projectors in classrooms around the district.</li><li>added 25 document cameras.</li><li>added 75 more netbooks to our high school program.</li><li>we are replacing the security cameras at Willard Intermediate.</li><li>... and coming soon - a new look to the district website.</li></ul><div>I have been working with a company called EChalk and we are developing a new webpage for the district. &nbsp;It is template based and we will be using it at the HS, MS, and IS as well. &nbsp;Those teachers will have a choice of keeping their existing page or posting onto the new template. &nbsp;We hope to have that in place in the next few weeks.</div></div></p>
